Innovative Teaching Grants
Grant applicants must submit projects that align with one of the following documents and supports the mission and vision of Castleberry ISD.
Purpose: The Innovative Teaching Grant is designed to encourage, facilitate, recognize, and reward innovative and creative instructional approaches to the accomplishment of program objectives.
Award Range: Teachers, coordinators, grade levels, campuses, and teachers teaching the same subjects may collaborate and apply together for collaborative grants or individually up to $2,000. Campuses are not limited to the number of grants awarded. The number and amount of awards will depend on funds available from the Castleberry ISD Education Foundation.
Application Window: Applications are submitted each spring.
Notification of Recipients: Recipients will be notified at the 2023 Spring Gala on April 14, 2023.
Date for Awarding Funds or Equipment: Summer
Implementation Date: Grants awarded should begin implementation prior to October 1st. All grant purchases must be completed by June 1st, following announcement of grant award winners.
Application Eligibility: Grants are limited to employed educators at Castleberry ISD. Volunteer-based and non-academic extracurricular activities are excluded. Applicants may apply individually or as a grade-level or subject-matter team with a Project Chairman. In the case of team-based proposals, a Project Chairman must be designated to assume overall administrative responsibility for the project, and all related correspondence will be directed to that individual.
Length of Project: The grants are funded for educators for the upcoming school year only. Any unexpended funds will revert back to the Castleberry ISD Education Foundation. Any funds not spent by October 1st of the intended implementation school year will revert back to the Castleberry ISD Education Foundation.
Eligible Grant Projects: All grants must identify innovative teaching practices that otherwise could not be funded through local or federal funding. The innovative practices must reflect the district's mission and align with the Campus or District Improvement Plan. Funds may not replace normal funding from tax-based sources. Grants will not cover incentives, salaries, travel, rewards, honorariums, or consumables.
