2020-2021 Innovative Teaching Grant
All 2020-2021 grant recipients must submit projects that align with one of the following documents and supports the mission and vision of Castleberry ISD.
- The District Strategic Plan
- 2019-2020 District Improvement Plan- Approved by CISD School Board on 10/7/2019
- Campus Improvement Plan
Purpose: The Innovative Teaching Grant is designed to encourage, facilitate, recognize, and reward innovative and creative instructional approaches to the accomplishment of program objectives.
Award Range: Up to $1,500 for individual grants and $3,000 for a grade level or department. Campuses are not limited to the number of grants awarded. The number and amount of awards will depend on funds available from the Castleberry ISD Education Foundation.
Application Window: March 9th - April 9th. All proposals must be submitted by 4:00 PM on April 9th. Late proposals will not be accepted.
Notification of Recipients: Recipients will be notified approximately 30 days following the application deadline.
Date for Awarding Funds or Equipment: July 13, 2020
Implementation Date: Grants awarded should begin implementation prior to October 1st, 2020. All grant purchases must be completed by May 1st, 2021.
Application Eligibility: Grants are limited to employed educators at Castleberry ISD. Volunteer-based and non-academic extracurricular activities are excluded. Applicants may apply individually or as a grade-level or subject-matter team with a Project Chairman. In the case of team-based proposals, a Project Chairman must be designated to assume overall administrative responsibility for the project, and all related correspondence will be directed to that individual.
Length of Project: The grants are funded for educators during the 2020-2021 school year only. Any unexpended funds will revert back to the Castleberry ISD Education Foundation. Any funds not spent by October 1st, 2020 will revert back to the Castleberry ISD Education Foundation.
Eligible Grant Projects: All grants must identify innovative teaching practices that otherwise could not be funded through local or federal funding. The innovative practices must reflect the district's mission and align with the Campus or District Improvement Plan or District Strategic Plan. Funds may not replace normal funding from tax-based sources. Grants will not cover incentives, salaries, travel, rewards, honorariums, or consumables.
